This book, compiled by Abarth Engineer Sergio Limone, looks at special cars and projects over a 33 year period of working from 1972 to 2005. Divided into 4 chapters, each traces the different eras that have shaped Abarth: From 1972 to 1980, when Abarth (Fiat-owned since 1971) seeks new success in rallying, and found triumph in three world championships with the Fiat 131 model. The next period with Lancia from 1980 to 1991; the main activity concerns the production and development of the Group B cars (Lancia Rally 037 and Delta S4) followed by the evolution of the Delta Group A car and six world rally titles. The Alfa Romeo years between the late eighties to 1996, wins with the 155, in the prestigious Touring car championships: DTM, BTCC. Finally, the years 1996-2005, with the new Fiat management in 2001 followed by "outsourced" projects being ended in December 2005 - the return under the total control of Fiat. These were the years of success with the Alfa Romeo 156 Super 2000 and the return of the Fiat brand with the Punto Rally. Also included in the publication are the lesser-known projects to be released first in Corso Marche in Turin and then from Chivasso and amongst the most curious to stand out, a bob sleigh and taxi.
