This book is the result of a ten year research by Cristian Bertschi and Estanislao lacona on the relationship between Alfa Romeo and Argentina. It tells the history from the arrival of the first cars in 1923 to the last sports car world championship race in 1972. The most important models raced locally throughout almost 50 years, inspiring with their success, today's passion for Alfa Romeo racing cars. Offering a fine illustrated journey, the book portrays the growth and heritage of Alfa Romeo, starting from the days of the G1, RL and P2 purchased by Giovanni Alberto Roccatagliata. With a focus on racing with such cars as the 8c Monza (2311209) used in events in the early 1950s, the Tipo B cars including the 1935 Mille Miglia car, converted to two seater form by Carlo Pintacuda. The story of a Tipo B found in a Customs warehouse race, the progressing to the bigger 8c35 models - with super images of a car with body removed showing the chassis detail, these are iconic images and not forgetting the 8c2900A & 2900B, 308 (50017) Grand Prix single seater, raced by Jose A. Canziani and the 12c/316. Personalities such as Juan Manuel Fangio and Jose Froilan Gonzalez and the Grand Prix cars of the early 1950s, the 158/159 are also caught on camera. Sports cars also achieve good coverage in the book with the 3000 CM for El Presidente Juan Domingo Peron, and production models like the 1900s, Giulietta, Giulia, 2600 are illustrated in rally / race events along with the later and more powerful specialty models like the 33/3 and 33TT3. A register of interesting pre and post war Alfa Romeos to the rear of the book bring it to a close.
