This classic motor racing book returned to print as a high quality facsimile edition in 1988. This book is the reprinted version from 1992. The years 1906-1951 cover a great period in motor racing history, from the first French Grand Prix to the last appearance of cars that developed substantial horsepower, mostly with the aid of superchargers. This book looks at the whole Grand Prix movement and at the great drivers who carried it forward. The appendices cover race results, records of individual drivers and marques, car specifications and a general summary of developments. The foreword is written by Laurence Pomeroy. The text is very informative and illustrated with numerous period photographs throughout.
