De Tomaso - The Man and the Machines

This book tells the story of how Alejandro DeTomaso fled his Argentinean home bound for Italy, with the goal of becoming a racing driver for an Italian car maker. Starting as a mechanic at Maserati, he quickly got into the driving seat and eventually won laurels internationally. Together with his wife, they started their own car company in the same town as Maserati and Ferrari. This book tells this story along with the behind the scenes skulduggery with Ford and General Motors that occurred along the way. The book brings the reader up to the late 1980s with the current Pantera, including information on the fitting of superchargers, turbochargers and nitrous oxide.
