The Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta competition cars have a mystique and charisma that is hard to explain. Their almost total domination of the ‘Tour de France’ races of the 1950s resulted in that name being adopted, wholly unofficially, to describe the type. The history of these machines, told by John Starkey, is detailed within this book. The development of the series, and of course the competition history, is recounted, linking the individual cars with the legendary drivers such as Olivier Gendebien, Paul Frere and Willy Mairesse. Accompanied with an excellent range of photographs of the cars, many captioned by chassis number, both in period and more recent years, this publication offers a great reference for the 250GT.
