After publishing a series of Year Books relating its history up to 1966, the Monza Autodrome decided that it would be suitable, in its fiftieth anniversary, to present this volume to cover in a concise form the entire period from 1922 to 1972 of motorcar and motorcycle racing. Covering a complete and concise account of the most important international races held at Monza, such as the Italian Grand Prix, the Grand Prix of Nations, Monza Grand Prix, the 1000 Km and the 4-Hour race. By means of hundreds of photographs, in black and white and in colour, the book also attempts to give a good visual description of ‘Monza’. It is not just a history of races that are covered, the book contains a lot of other interesting items, from the description of the circuits build and re development in the early post war period, along with brief illustrated history of famous drivers and riders who have competed there, with the likes of Jean Pierre Wimille, Giuseppe Farina, Lorenzo Bandini, Jack Bradham, Phil Hill, Jimmy Simpson, and Tonino Benelli to mention just a few. Also detailed are International Motor Car and Motor Cycle Records (with standing start) broken at Monza, winners of the Italian Grand Prix, Grand Prix of Nations, 1000Km Race, 4 Hour Race, Lap records and timing chart for circuit speed.
